Maureen Bersuder-Mitchell is a native of New Orleans, LA with over 22 years of studio teaching experience. Ms. Bersuder studied dance since the age of two. Her dance training began in the Greater New Orleans area where she was a member of numerous dance companies. In 1988, Mrs. Bersuder graduated as a teacher of dance and became certified in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, and acrobatics. She advanced her dance career as she performed with variety of dance companies throughout the states of Chicago, Wisconsin and Tennessee.
Ms. Bersuder's television performance as one of the nations Top Young Dancers of the year, showcased her professional training in ballet, jazz, and tap. Throughout her early adulthood, she traveled throughout the country educating and training under dance master teachers in several states across the country since the age of eleven. As a competitive dancer and teacher Mrs. Maureen has won numerous Regional and National awards including Platinum Ballet Champions and Platinum Jazz Champions, along with many title awards. Mrs. Bersuder and her dedicated dancers have also earned numerous studio awards including outstanding choreography, performance, and judges awards in several areas in the United States.
As a faculty member of Junior Miss Pageants, Mrs. Bersuder was a choreographer for several pageants in Louisiana and Mississippi on the State and Local levels. She has also judged many high school and college dance teams, dance competitions, and Dance Company auditions in the southeast and central united states. In 1999, she was inducted a member to Dance Masters of America and Louisiana Association of Dance Masters. In 2012, Mrs. Bersuder was awarded the “I Love Dance" Teacher of the Year Award teaching excellence in dance technique and dance performance.
